Local Chamber publishes provincial report on the crisis of electricity costs

Our local chamber of commerce has been busy over the past year working on a report about rising electricity costs. It was put together to make recommendations to the government in order to stop rising costs and keep businesses in the province.

According to their research, 81 per cent of Ontarians are concerned that rising electricity prices will impact the health of the Ontario economy. President of the Chamber, Jerry Walker says if something isn’t done, businesses will leave the province, jobs will be lost and our economy will suffer.

They outline five recommendations in total including increasing transparency and keep the Debt Retirement Charge until it has been retired.
