Six accessibility projects move forward in the County thanks to federal fund

Accessibility upgrades are happening across the county thanks to the Enabling Accessibility Fund. Our local MP Barry Devolin just made the announcement of over 215 thousand dollars going into the riding.

Local recipients include Community Living Haliburton County who will use just over 24 thousand dollars for a platform lift at the old Victoria Street School.

An accessible playground will be built in Minden Hills thanks to the 23 thousand dollars they got from the fund.

The Minden Legion will be able to install a new accessible washroom door and a new entrance door with automated openers.

Lakeside Church was given close to five thousand dollars to build an exterior ramp.

Sir Sam’s Ski and Ride is using their just over 21 thousand dollars for an accessible family washroom.

The Township of Algonquin Highlands received 18 thousand dollars to renovate restrooms and build pathways and landings at Stanhope park.

A total of eleven organizations across the riding were the lucky recipients and the announcement was for a total of 215 thousand dollars.
