Feeding those few deer in your backyard come with good intentions, but sometimes it turns out badly for the human and the animal. The MNR is wanting to remind everyone to be careful when doing so.
The animals will often rely on people for food and lose their natural fear of humans which can cause aggressive behaviour from the animal.
The Ministry also mentions that feeding wildlife can attract unwanted animals to your property such as predators. It can also increase the risk of car crashes.
