CEO of the Haliburton County Public Library, Bessie Sullivan is being recognized province wide. The Ontario Public Library Association is giving her the Leadership in Adult Reader’s Advisory Award. Sullivan says she’s honoured to receive the award.

Sullivan has been the CEO for almost seven years and she says things have been changing ever since she started.

Sullivan says they’ve found themselves getting involved in things like digital literacy. She’ll receive the award at an Ontario Literacy Association conference in October.

While she’s happy to receive the award, she says it’s really a team effort.

Even though she was late learning how to read as a child, she says as soon as she picked it up, there was no stopping her.
