Minden Hills is trying to get ahead of the renewable energy game. With all the proposals for solar projects coming up recently, the Planning and Development Committee thought they should be looking into renewable energy options.
Councilor Pam Sayne says they don’t want to be simply following action coming forward, but have a strategy in place.
They will be holding a public consultation where people involved in renewable energy will be asked to offer their experience and advice. The ultimate goal is to have a task force that can offer feedback and reports to council.
Sayne says by doing this, people can have renewable energy options instead of waiting for options from the province.
