There have been more emergency calls for paramedics this year than the past three years. EMS Director Craig Jones says it’s a 36 per cent increase from last year, but they are still managing.
He says weekends have been particularly busy, but they’re also getting more calls from outside the county. Any time our paramedics are in a surrounding county transporting a patient, they’ll go to an emergency call there if they’re needed. Jones says they are working with other Paramedic services to bring that number down.
