A Barrie man is being charged with child abandonment after a three year old boy was found unattended in a vehicle. It happened last night just after 8:00.
Barrie police say the boy was crying and screaming for his father from a parked car in the driveway. When officers got to the scene, they found the 26 year old male passed out on the kitchen floor. He was transported to hospital where they found out he had overdosed on pain killers.
The toddler was found in good health and was turned over to family.
The charged male was released with the promise to appear in Barrie court in September.
