An effort to stop a septic disposal site from going on a local property is the start of a province-wide initiative. A group called Our Grandchildren Matter Too; Save Maple Lake is against the application for the property at Highway 118 and 25th Line Road.
However, member Bill Missen says they don’t have any issues with the property owner, they’re concerned about the province wide issue. He says six provinces in Canada have stopped the practice of untreated septic dumping, but Ontario isn’t one of them.
The group is contacting all levels of government to put an end to dumping untreated sewage on fields.
