Sleepover fire safety

A fire during a sleepover party could turn out to be a parent’s nightmare, if you don’t have working smoke alarms. Fire Prevention Officer Shannon Armitage wants to remind parents to talk about fire safety before letting their child go off to a sleepover party.

Parents need to ensure kids are sleeping in a room with two possible exits. Kids should also be reminded, once they hear the smoke alarm they need to get out of the building, and stay out.
