Decision on Bear Lake Road delayed until next year

Residents and councillors in Algonquin Highlands will be waiting until next year to move any further along in the Bear Lake Road issue.

The township doesn’t maintain the road in the winter, because it doesn’t meet provincial standards. Just to find out what all needs to be done to get the road up to code will cost $6,000, and some councillors don’t want to spend the money when it’s not in their budget.

A vote ended up with the decision to consider spending the money when it comes to budget time next year.
