Police remind you to stay safe during hunting season. Not a day goes by without police getting hunting related calls for service. OPP Constable Peter Leon says often they have to do with people hunting on private property. If you’re found on private property illegally, you can be charged under the trespass to property act. Police also stress hunters must be sure of their target before firing. Firearms must always be unloaded and safely stored when not being used. Hunters should wear bright orange while hunting and non-hunters should also wear bright colored clothing if possible during hunting season.
