Government funding for MNR relocation to Stanhope Airport

Algonquin Highlands are getting the cash needed to move ahead with the MNR relocation to Stanhope Airport. At the eleventh hour Reeve Carol Moffatt received word that the application for the scope change for Build Canada money has been approved. In 2009, previous council had secured government funding to build a crosswind runway.  This money will now be used for the relocation project. The next step is to clear 6 hectares of trees to make room for the new 20,000 square foot MNR fire management headquarters. Tenders for the tree cutting will go out soon.
