Small price to pay to help County residents

A Place Called Home needs money to get through the winter. Program Coordinator Tina Jackson spoke to Haliburton County council this week explaining the not for profit charity and the work they do for residents in need. Things like helping get hydro re-connected, securing firewood or oil to heat their homes and helping youth and adults find a place to live. A branch of the charity moved to the county in the summer and has already helped 133 people, including 29 seniors and 34 children. $6,000 from the county will help the program until the spring when provincial money is expected.
