Kawartha Lakes Police arrested a 22-year-old Lindsay man for checking for unlocked vehicles. A city snowplow driver called police around 3:45 this morning after observing a man on a bicycle in the area of Fieldside Drive. Officers found the man and say he rode his bicycle into the side of a police cruiser then fled on foot into nearby bush. He was located by the canine unit and is charged with theft and possession of stolen property under $5,000 as well as probation offenses. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
