OPP officer cleared in Burnt River man’s suicide

The man pulled from Burnt River earlier this month committed suicide. Kawartha Lakes OPP had been called by a family member on December 9, saying the 51 year old intended to kill himself. A police officer arrived at a boat launch north of Fenelon Falls just as the man drove his car into the icy water. An SIU investigation says the officer did not have a chance to save the man and cleared him of any wrongdoing.
