Shots were fired at officers in the community of Purdy. OPP responded to a call that a man had been assaulted with a weapon in the town northeast of Bancroft, yesterday morning. When they arrived someone fired shots at them and they took cover. They were then approached with a knife. The 32 year old suspect was tasered and taken into custody. The man in the original assault was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police continue to investigate.
