The MNR is getting involved in an application for a sewage disposal site in Algonquin Highlands.
It’s a 97 acre property on 25th Line Road and Highway 118 where the owner wants to use about 2 acres to spread sewage.
Manager with the MOE, David Bradley says there could be species at risk in the area, so they’ve told the applicant to contact the MNR for studies.
A local action group is calling on the County to respond, but Warden Murray Fearrey says they don’t have the expertise. He says it’s a difficult problem to resolve, and he’s anxious to find a provincial solution.
