New streetlights in Minden Hills are saving time, money and energy.

That’s what the company RealTerm Energy says. They’re replacing 233 streetlights with LED lights, which they say will cut maintenance costs by 80 per cent, and electricity costs by close to 60 per cent.

The work has already started and the company says it will also reduce the township’s green house gas emissions by eight metric tonnes a year.

At the same time, another company is coming in to install LED lights for the Riverwalk.
