Local residents are signing a petition to bring back the portage at Moore Falls.
According to local cottage associations, the TSW removed the boat roller system and portage access earlier this year. In a letter to area residents, the TSW said it was a public safety improvement. However, residents say the portage has been used without incident for many years.
According to the group, paddlers are now forced to portage across Highway 35.
So far, about 360 people have signed the online petition. You can find it at Change.org.
