Dysart’s Reeve says a local venue for music festivals will be a big benefit to the community. Murray Fearrey says there is a lot for councillors to wrap their heads around when it comes to the proposal for turning Lakeside Golf Club into a music festival venue.

Earthproductions is the company that has put a conditional offer on the property. Fearrey says councillors want to feel comfortable that it complies with zoning regulations and rules. He also says he thinks it’s something that would work for the community.

Fearrey says a big concern is noise, but the company has a way to mitigate it.

He says even if the event brings in 25 per cent of what bigger festivals bring in, it would be huge for our area. Councillors are set to have another meeting in a couple of weeks to make a decision.
