Area police are telling parents to check their kids candy after a finishing nail was found in a chocolate bar.

City of Kawartha Lakes OPP got the call when a grandparent noticed a small hole in the outside of a 2 inch chocolate bar wrapper. When they opened it, they found the finishing nail imbedded in the chocolate. No one was injured, but police are continuing to investigate.

OPP is reminding parents to check wrappers for rips or holes. If you find anything, or have information on this incident, you’re asked to contact police.
