Municipal councils in Haliburton County have signed resolutions against the sale of Hydro One and now MPP Laurie Scott is carrying their voice. In legislature this week, Scott stood up to say the Liberal government is making life increasingly unaffordable in Ontario.

Scott says event he government’s own independent officers are opposing the sale.

According to the province, the net proceeds from the sale of Hydro One will go into funding infrastructure projects across the province.

According to a report from the Financial Accountability Office says the sale will initially reduce the province’s debt, but eventually the debt will be higher than it would be without the sale.
