Plane that crashed at Stanhope Airport is missing

The wreckage of a plane that crashed at the Stanhope Airport is missing.

Airport manager Cam Loucks says sometime between Tuesday at 9:00p.m. and Wednesday at 10:30a.m., the wreckage was removed. He says the aircraft owner and his insurance company don’t know who took it.

The plane crashed into a bush area off Canopy Lane Tuesday afternoon.

Haliburton Highlands OPP constable Dianna Dauphinee says they didn’t make any arrangements to have the wreckage removed, and no one has reported it missing.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has confirmed to Moose FM that they do not have the plane.
