Scouts Canada is looking for local leaders so they can open up two groups in Haliburton Village. Area Support Manager Amy Patterson says Scouts haven’t been in town for about ten years, but it’s the perfect location.

She says the program is youth-led so kids decide what they want to do and accomplish.

Patterson says they don’t need a lot of people in order to get things started.

She’s hoping for six leaders so they can open groups for Beavers and Cubs.

Leaders get free training, resources, mentoring, and support and have to be 18 or older.
