Our local health unit is raising awareness about addiction and local supports.
It’s National Addictions Awareness Week and the HKPR District Health Unit says they have programs in place as harm reduction strategies. The Needle Exchange Program reduces the spread of blood borne infections, and the Patch for Patch program prevents the misuse of fentanyl patches.
These programs are in place in Haliburton County and surrounding areas.
