NewsHockey camp looks for long term commitment from council SHARE ON: Smith Autumn, contributor, Tuesday, Nov. 24th, 2015A local hockey camp is looking for a long term commitment from council.Owner of Haliburton Hockey Haven, Troy Binnie says he wants to buy a property for the summer camp, but needs to know the summer ice will be available to rent. He’s asking Dysart council for a five to 10 year contract to rent the ice for nine weeks a year. That’s one week longer than this year, but Binnie says they’re looking to expand. They had 500 kids over eight weeks this year, but they’re hoping for 1,000 kids next year.Councillors agree there’s a big economic benefit to the community, so they’re looking in to contract options.
