YWCA marks National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Last year, the Peterborough Haliburton YWCA provided emergency shelter and support for 900 women who were afraid for their lives.

Yesterday marked the 26th National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. According to our local YWCA, two women in Canada are killed by their partners every twelve days.

This year, the organization is asking residents to reach out to people who may be experiencing abuse.

You can go to their website for more information.
