Illegal hunting has cost a Dunsford man $2,000.
Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers learned a wild turkey had been shot just north of Bobcaygeon on April 30.
An M.N.R.F. investigation revealed the man shot from the roadway and killed a wild turkey on posted private property.
He also tagged the bird with someone else’s turkey seal.
He pleaded guilty earlier this month in provincial court.
He was fined $750 for shooting from a roadway, $750 for using another person’s seal, and $500 for trespassing.
He also received a one-year turkey hunting suspension.
