Haliburton Highlands Health Services is adding a new service next year.
President and C.E.O. Carolyn Plummer says health services will offer a bone densitometry service.
Plummer adds the room where the service will be provided has been renovated, and the equipment has been ordered.
She also says the equipment will be able to scan patient’s bones to see how vulnerable people are to fractures.
Plummer mentions it is one less services residents have to leave the county to access.
The purchase of the equipment was made possible from the H.H.H.S. Foundation’s fundraising efforts, which brought in over $900,000 in the last 12 months.
