County students could be suspended if vaccine records are not up to date

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is giving advice to help students avoid suspensions.

The health unit says it will be issuing school suspension notices for students whose vaccine records are not up to date.

If you receive a notice about your child facing s suspension, you are encouraged to contact H.K.P.R. to either update immunization records or get whatever vaccine is missing.

The Immunization of School Pupils Act states that all students must be vaccinated for diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough, chickenpox and meningococcal disease.
