O.P.P. in the City of Kawartha Lakes had a busy long weekend.
Officers responded to 46 traffic complaints from Friday to Monday. The O.P.P. says that aggressive driving, such as tailgating, and speeding, continues to be a concern on highways in the area.
On Friday officers responded to an accident on Highway 7 that led to a 23-year-old Unionville woman being charged with driving while impaired and driving with 80 mgs or more of alcohol in her bloodstream.
On the holiday Monday, officers stopped a vehicle that appeared to be swerving. A 41-year-old North York man was arrested and charged with driving with 80 mgs of alcohol in his bloodstream. The 23-year-old woman is due in court September 23rd, and the 41-year-old man will make his appearance in October.
