If you want to get involved in the Youth Opportunity Fund, time is running out.
The Haliburton County Development Corporation is encouraging youth to take advantage of the YOF before it’s too late. YOF is a series of three funds offered through the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The funding they offer is geared to help indigenous youth or families, Black/Afro-diasporic/Afro-Caribbean and/or Afro-Latinx youth and families, as well, other youth or families facing barriers to their well being.
One of the funding opportunities is called “Youth Innovation Stream,” this funding stream invests in youth-led grassroots groups by providing the resources they need to address the systemic barriers that they face. This stream offers up to $85,000 for a one to three-year project
The second investment fund is called the “Family Innovation Stream,” This investment is geared to help grassroots groups “empower, support, and strengthen families.” this funding stream is supposed to be used to engage parents, guardians, and caregivers to address the barriers that each face. This grant could go as high as $85,000 for a one to three-year project
The third fund is called the “Systems Innovation Stream,” The goal of this fund is to help create improvements within systems designed to help break systemic barriers for youth. This Grant has a longer time frame of two to six years for $250,000. The deadline to apply for this grant is December 11th, and the deadline to register a business is November 21st.
The deadline to “express interest” is December 11th of this year.
