Arctic chill likely trading out for heavy snowfall in Haliburton

The bitter icy grip on Haliburton is about to move out, but it’s likely to be replaced by a dumping of snow.

Environment Canada is warning a weather system moving in tonight has the potential to bring up to 15 cm of snowfall to the area.

There is a chance the county could also get hit with freezing rain late Wednesday morning or in the early afternoon, which will switch to rain as the temperature gets warmer. Environment Canada will release freezing rain warnings closer to the weather event if needed.

The snowfall across Haliburton is likely to start around 9pm and will continue throughout the night.
