Canadian Mental Health Association offers services in Haliburton County

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge branch has services for those in need.

Some believe that Haliburton County’s acreage and spread out population can create social isolation and other factors that contribute to mental health concerns.

In light of that MyHaliburtonNow.com  has created a list of the different services offered by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

In Haliburton County, the CMHA offers the Four County Crisis which is a crisis response line that operates 24-7. According to CMHA, the support line is for use by anyone 16 years or older dealing with mental illness, mental health concerns, or someone that is in crisis. The phone number for the support line is 1-866-995-9933.

Another service in the area is Gender Journeys, a service that provides programming, support and education for transgender people as well as gender-diverse people, or two-spirited individuals. This service offers different groups including the “core” group, the youth gender groups, the beyond gender group, and the family support and partner support groups. CMHA says they also offer group sessions in Minden, the Self-Esteem group meets the first Tuesday of the month. As well they offer the Wellness and Recovery Group that meets in five cycles of an eight-week program. To get details on these groups you can call 705-286-4575.
