Places for People want a break on waste.
At this month’s Algonquin Highlands council meeting, staff said the not-for-profit would like to receive an exemption of up to $200 at the Maple Lake Landfill, each year.
Mayor Carol Moffatt said the municipality does not make donations and does not have the right to take money and give it out all over the county. Mayor Moffatt said they were however prepared to offer free use of a facility for fundraising, in the municipality, and council agreed.
