The township of Algonquin Highlands are making changes at their landfill sites in response to COVID-19.
Effective immediately they will no longer accept the following:
Construction materials, concrete or shingles;
Scrap metal;
Bulky items that don’t fit in a standard size garbage can;
Mattresses;
Furniture;
Appliances;
Brush, leaves or yard waste;
Boats.
Until further notice they will accept up to 1 cubic yard of household waste per vehicle and blue box recycling.
Re-use centres at Maple, Dorset and Oxtongue will be closed.
Attendants will be checking landfill ID cards and will oversee the materials you bring into the site.
