The second floor of the Haliburton Medical Centre will serve as the second vaccination clinic for Haliburton County.
This is in addition to the S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena in Minden. According to the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit’s (HKPR) website, a third location will be announced, but it has not been announced.
As of this morning, both locations are available to be booked through Ontario’s online booking portal. The earliest appointment available is on Monday, March 22nd.
HKPR’s Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Gemmill said that everyone who wants a vaccine will get one.
“We know some of our residents went into the provincial booking system to book their appointments this week and discovered there were no clinics in their area,” said Dr. Gemmill. “We understand that it has been frustrating, but we need to ensure that there is a dose of vaccine available for every appointment and I would ask people to be patient and go back into the system in the coming weeks to check for additional clinics.”
