With the planned closure of the Minden emergency department coming up on June 1st, residents opposing the move are hoping to take their battle to court.
A campaign called “Save Minden ER.” was announced last Friday, a plan to raise $100,000 in order to fund a legal challenge seeking an injunction and judicial review of the consolidation plan before it moves ahead.
On Sunday, hundreds of people gathered at the Minden Fairgrounds to express their concerns and raise money for the legal challenge.
As of yesterday, the group had raised $50,000 of its $100,000 to obtain a retainer for its legal challenge.
