Local residents of Little Kennisis Lake were at yesterday’s council meeting advocating for a new cell tower, and it worked out in their favour. The tower was proposed for Watts Road to give people better service.
The location is only 250 meters from a resident, and the municipality policy shows a preference for one kilometer.
Deputy-Reeve Andrea Roberts and Councilor Susan Norcross both wanted to see the company go back to find a different location. The rest of council didn’t agree, so the proposed tower location will be moving forward.
The tower will be a monopine structure and 40 meters high.
