Tourists are starting to move into Haliburton. That comes from Warden Brent Devolin, who is reacting to the latest census numbers. Stats Can shows the county’s population grew by over a thousand people in the last five years. Devolin says that’s partly because the county has been working hard to promote tourism.

Devolin also notes people have been moving away from places like Toronto because house prices keep going up.
