The Dorset Lions Club Will Apply for a Canada 150 Grant Thanks to Algonquin Highlands

The Dorset Lions Club has asked the township of Algonquin Highlands to help them get a Canada 150 grant for a re-development project.

The plan is to add a half-court to the Dorset Baseball Diamond for basketball.

President of the Lions Club Chris Keene says they can’t apply for the grant because the group isn’t a registered charity.

Keene says if the municipality partners with the club they can apply because the township is an eligible organization.

The municipality has agreed to be the applicant on the funding application.

The entire project will cost $85,000.
