Community centres looking for support from Minden council

Costs are increasing for Lochlin and Irondale Community Centres and they’re looking to Minden council for help.

Right now, the committees have to raise their own money to pay for operational and maintenance costs. Committee member Jane Leavis says it’s all done through labour intensive fundraising which is causing volunteer burnout.

They’re asking for the township to provide $6,500 to help with increasing costs and upgrades. Councillors agreed to discuss the request when they finalize next year’s budget.
