The tender for the Stanhope hangars was awarded to Taskforce Engineering Inc. on Thursday.
Taskforce was the preferred bidder but the price is still more than council wanted.
Algonquin Highlands Reeve Carol Moffatt says she’s pleased with how council has made changes to cover the new price. She says council discussed elements of the project that are not crucial and were able to be taken out.
With the changes to the project, Moffatt says they will not need to go to the taxpayers to cover the overage.
