Funding could mean big installations at Minden Wastewater Treatment Plant

A Small Communities Fund is available through the Provincial government, and the Township of Minden Hills is hoping to take advantage of it.

Environment and Property Operations Manager, Ivan Ingram told council applying for new installations at the Wastewater Treatment Plant would be like getting a new plant. Council approved Ingram to apply for an Expression of Interest for the purchase and installation of a UV Treatment System, Comminutor, and Main Drive.

The fund would cover two-thirds of the $250,000 project, meaning the township would have to provide just over $83,000.

Ingram will find out if they’re selected at the end of October and then he can move forward with an application.
