Dorset Tower closed until Aug. 8 due to construction

Construction fencing has been installed around the Dorset Tower and work has begun on the installation of a lighting strike protection system.

Officials say as of July 29, visitors are no longer able to climb the tower. It is expected to be closed until Aug. 8.

According to officials, the work is being done now to ensure the project is completed prior to peak fall colour season, which is the busiest time of year for the tower.

Although the tower is closed, the rest of the property, including Peek-A-Boo Rock, the hiking trail and gift shop, will remain open.
