People 55 and older in Haliburton County who are unemployed can sign up for a free program that will help them find a job. Employment and Training Consultant Henriette Hoekstra (Hook-strah) says the Target Initiative for Older Workers is a 52 week program and they offer support for clients.
Hoekstra says it includes 8 weeks of workshops for resume writing, interview skills and other training. She says it’s also offered to people who are under-employed, and it won’t affect any funding they already receive from the government. You can go to their website for more information or call 705-457-2020.
