The Dorset Lions Club wants to re-purpose an existing landmark within the village.
Members have asked councillors of Algonquin Highlands if they can turn the Lions Community Baseball Diamond into a half-court basketball facility and a walking path.
Reeve Carol Moffatt says before they give them an answer, Lake of Bays needs to see the same presentation because they own the diamond too.
She says it’s a great idea, and can’t see why they would say no.
Each Lions club has been asked to do a legacy project within their community to celebrate their 100th year of service in 2017.
