The Dorset Lions Club has done what the municipality of Algonquin Highlands asked them to do, ask the township of Lake of Bays to support the re-development project.
The lions say the plan would remove the Dorset ball diamond, and add a half-court for basketball.
The project would also include pathways around the park.
Both municipalities are on board with the project, which will cost $85,000.
Each Lions club has been asked to do a legacy project within their community to celebrate their 100th year of service in 2017.
