There’s one rule you should remember about school buses or you could face a hefty fine.
Haliburton Highlands OPP Constable Tim Negus says drivers traveling both ways must stop for buses once the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended.
Negus says breaking these rules could result in a $2,000 fine, and six demerit points.
He is also reminding drivers to watch for students walking to school, because it’s their responsibility to keep their eyes open.
