The Canadian Cancer Society has announced that Halburton County’s Relay for Life will be a Candlelight Walk this year.
Fundraising Coordinator Emily Vassiliadis says the walk will take place instead of the overnight event they’ve done in the past.
The walk will take place on June 13 from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. and will be a 2.4 km loop through town starting at the Minden United Church on Newcastle Street.
As it is a smaller event, Vassiliadis says their goal is to raise $20,000. However, she says the community really comes through every year and is confident it will exceed the goal.
